Self PortraitsSenior Portrait Session: Preston
PortraitsYesterday I shot my kid brother’s senior photos. These are waaaaay overdue – he’s actually already graduated (as of this past summer) but it just took a while for us to find the time to get together.
But we finally did. The clouds were fantastic yesterday evening.
He’s very natural in front of the camera.
He was definitely channeling his inner James Dean.
We had a good time and it was so nice to photograph someone who’s got such a natural feel for posing! Thanks, Preston. Let’s shoot again soon 🙂
More images from his session can be seen here.
My sister and her ’67 Impala cosplay
Artistic, PortraitsIt’s been a while, I know. I have had this bad habit lately of letting life get in the way of my photographic plans and efforts. It’s a habit I need to break.
My sister is a die-hard Supernatural fan.
(Let’s be honest – I like the show quite a bit, too.)
Recently she informed me that she finally had all of the pieces assembled for her cosplay – Dean Winchester’s 1967 Chevrolet Impala.
So of course we photographed it.
Really, the way she put the outfit together was quite brilliant.
This shot (below) is probably my favorite from our session.
She looks like such a badass!
For me, good cosplay is really all in the details.
As far as I’m concerned, this one is spot on.
And I had an awesome time photographing it.
Glamour Portrait Session: Mady
PortraitsMady is a smart, fun-loving, humorous, and warm-hearted woman. I have the privilege of being counted among her friends.
This past Saturday I got to photograph her – you may remember she was the winner of the glamour session. My favorite makeup artist, Kiara, drove 30 mins from where she lives to come do Mady’s hair and makeup. (She also did the makeup for Samantha and Hadli.)
We spent nearly the whole day together, talking and laughing. I could tell Mady was nervous, but also very excited; I was feeling the same way. My ultimate goal for when I do these shoots is for the women I photograph to be able to see how beautiful they really are, and to capture their inner beauty as well as the outer.
Mady shared her experience of the day on her blog, here.
Here are some of the images I captured of my beautiful friend.
A few more can be seen on my Facebook page.
